About
A 197-page legal manual is a
terrible textbook
OMVIC Ace started with one observation: the Automotive Certification Course manual contains everything you need to pass — organized in the worst possible way to learn it.
The OMVIC Certification Test gates entry to an entire career. Sell cars in Ontario and you must pass it — at 80%, higher than most professional exams. The official study material is a dense, legally precise, 197-page reference document. It defines everything and emphasizes nothing: the dollar threshold that appears on every exam sits in the same grey paragraph style as a historical footnote.
So students do what people always do with bad textbooks: read passively for thirty-plus hours, highlight half the pages, walk in uncertain, and — too often — come back for a rewrite. Not because the material is hard, but because reading is not studying.
OMVIC Ace is the studying layer. We rebuilt the manual as 18 plain-English chapters with diagrams for every process, wrote 290+ exam-style questions with teaching explanations, distilled the must-know numbers into 200+ spaced-repetition flashcards, and wrapped it in a timed simulator scored against the real 80% bar — so “am I ready?” stops being a feeling and becomes a number.
The result: what took a month of anxiety now takes one focused day for most students. That's the entire company in one sentence.
Principles
How we make decisions
Faithful to the source
Everything is built from the official 2026 Student Manual. We compress and clarify — we never contradict, and we always point back to omvic.ca as the authority.
Optimized for the pass
80% is the bar. Every design decision — chapter length, question difficulty, flashcard scheduling — exists to get you past it on the first attempt.
Honest by default
No fake urgency, no guaranteed-pass claims, no hiding that we're independent. If the free tier is enough for you, genuinely, use the free tier.
Built for real schedules
Our students study between shifts, after kids' bedtimes and on the bus. The product respects that: short chapters, resumable everything, mobile-first.
The independence disclaimer, in plain sight
OMVIC Ace is an independent study companion. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to OMVIC (the Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council) or Georgian College. You register for and write the official certification test through official channels — we make sure you walk in ready. Regulations change; always verify current rules at omvic.ca. Nothing here is legal advice.
